Yaxlich Is SAD

In the early hours of Sunday morning the clocks went back. Yaxlich didn't notice them doing it because he was asleep at the time. When he woke up, he saw that all the clocks had changed by magic although Mr E suggested that he had had something to do with that and called Yaxlich a lazy git for getting up so late.

Since Sunday morning Yaxlich has been sad. Today he felt so sad that he didn't even want to blog but did anyway with the Italian transvestite thingummy because he was scared people wouldn't come back to see him anymore if he didn't blog today.

He thinks it's because he suffers from SAD, although he's not sure. SAD stands for seasonal affective disorder. The Wikipedia* definition is this:

Seasonal affective disorder, or SAD, also known as winter depression is an affective, or mood disorder. Most SAD sufferers experience normal mental health
throughout most of the year, but experience depressive symptoms in the winter or
summer. SAD is rare, if existent at all, in the tropics, but is measurably
present at latitudes of 30°N (or S) and higher.

When he wakes up it is dark. When he goes to bed it is dark. The bit in the middle of the day is briefly light but then dark again. He would hate to live in Iceland where it's dark 25 hours a day. That wouldn't be very much fun at all. Unless you were a torch battery salesman.

* - Wikipedia is Yaxlich's friend. He likes Wikipedia a lot. It's one of his favourite websites. It is so full of useful information that it makes him want to run around the room shouting "Wiki! Wiki!" at the top of his voice. He never does, though.

Maybe if Yaxlich did run around shouting 'Wiki! Wiki!' he'd feel happier and banish SAD.

Yaxlich! You are my soul mate. I have SAD, too. And it's really bad in the fall. And I also love Wikipedia. It's perfect for the person who only wants to do sort of research. BTW, we would come back and visit--even if you didn't post for a week--because you are novel sort of fellow.

Yax, I love that you blog everyday. In triplicate sometimes. You are truly an inspiration to us all (me) who blog, well, not evryday.

I know I can always count on you to satisfy my "who's updated" itch over the weekends. I beg you - seek a tanning bed (tanning booth?) it does wonders and will make Yaxlich a pleasant shade of tawny so rarely seen in northern parts.

Looks especially nice with eyebrows done up.

Super Model? Super Yax? Metroyaxual?

Blogger Lizza said ... (11:59 am) :

I hope Yaxlich gets over his SAD and sad mood soon. Unless he finds that he likes being in those conditions. The thought of Yaxlich running around and yelling "Wiki! Wiki!" is funny!

Yaxlich has taken Wendz advice and done exactly that. He does not feel sad today. He thinks that, perhaps, he ought to start his day shouting "Wiki! Wiki!".

He hopes that Gem is not feeling SAD today and is looking forward to Halloween without fear of confrontation from spotty hoodie types with ASBOs.

Yaxlich thanks ExAfrica for her kind words. He is blushing. He does like the term 'metroyaxual' though. Hmmm....He will think of ways of incorporating this in future posts.

Lizza must realise that Yaxlich doesn't like to be sad for too long. He thinks it's is healthy to be sad once in a while so that you can really treasure those times when something good happens and you are unsad.

Blogger anna said ... (6:44 pm) :

Anna is SAD too, but shhhhh, don't tell anyone.

Blogger Yaxlich said ... (10:17 pm) :

Yaxlich doesn't like to think of Anna being SAD. He likes to think of her being jiggly happy rather than jiggly grumpsome. Obv.

Blogger simona said ... (11:37 pm) :

SAD is OK.
SAD is quite ubiquitous at this time of the year. It must be all those yellow leaves... Alcessa thinks it is indeed a natural part of the year cycle.

Blogger Yaxlich said ... (10:35 am) :

Yellow leaves. Red leaves. Brown leaves. All blowing in Yaxlich's face when he walks down the road.

He is sure that he'll not be quite so SAD once all of the leaves have finished doing their fally off thing and it starts to get frosty and icy and snowy. He'll be too cold to be SAD then.
